MOBILITY CONCERNS?
We often get asked questions like, “How far is it from Mitchell Lodge to the Main Lodge?” Or, “Are there accommodations that don’t require steps?” This page sets out to provide as much information as possible so that guests can make an informed decision on the best accommodations for them.

WINTER STAR LODGE - King Loft + Queen Suite x2
Named for its views of Winter Star Mountain, this lodge features our two largest suites. Each has an open loft king room, a queen back bedroom, a living area, and two full bathrooms.
MITCHELL LODGE - King Room x4
Named for its views of Mount Mitchell, our newest lodge features four rooms with a king bed and a full bathroom.
PISGAH LODGE - Queen Suite x3
Named for the national forest that begins just behind this building, this lodge has four 2-room suites featuring a back bedroom with a queen bed, a living area, and a full bathroom.
PISGAH LODGE - Queen + Bunk Suite x1
Named for the national forest that begins just behind this building, this lodge has four 2-room suites featuring a back bedroom with a queen bed, a living area, and a full bathroom.
CLEAR CREEK LODGE - Creekside - King + Bunk Suite x1
This suite has two adjoining rooms - one featuring a king bed and a full bathroom, the other features two bunk beds (4 twin mattresses) and a full bathroom. This accommodation sleeps up to 6 people. Please note that the top bunk beds have a maximum weight limit of 150 lbs.
CLEAR CREEK LODGE - Creekside King x2
Named for the (usually) babbling creek beside these rooms, each of these two rooms features a king bed and a full bathroom.
CLEAR CREEK LODGE - Mobility-Friendly King x2
Our two mobility-friendly king rooms are on the Main Lodge side of Clear Creek Lodge, with access to parking spaces dedicated to these rooms that don’t require steps, as well as easy access to the Main Lodge. Two additional grab bars (one by the toilet and one by the shower) have also been installed. Each of these two rooms features a king bed and a full bathroom.
CLEAR CREEK LODGE - ADA King x1
This is our one ADA (handicap accessible) room, which features a king bed and a full bathroom for two people. A handicap parking space is available behind the Main Lodge, with a ramp that provides access to the room and the Main Lodge. We have a wide doorway into the room, an accessible table, room to access the bed, a shower with a flip-down seat and a showerhead that can be lowered, plus grab bars throughout the bathroom.
